Bicycle Quilt

Once upon a time my husband and I rode our bicycles a lot.  And by a lot I mean not only did we go for a ride multiple times per week, we also did some pretty long distances.   We even planned rides on our vacation!

Here we are riding down the volcano, Haleakala, in Maui September 2017.

One weekend after being on the bike all day I received an email from Fig Tree & Co with a picture of a fabric bundle that included a bicycle print!  Such great timing!  The bundle came with a simple and quick patchwork pattern.  I ended up adding a couple of prints to the bundle to make a slightly larger quilt.

This poor quilt top sat around un-quilted for years!  I couldn’t decide how I wanted to quilt it or what backing to use.  It just kept getting pushed lower on my to do list.

When I received my longarm I wanted to quilt ALL THE THINGS!!!  It took a little bit of searching for the right backing but I figured out an edge to edge design pretty quickly.  Donut Connection by Jess Ziegler was a great match for those cute bicycles!  I found a great color match with a wide back fabric from Well Said by Sandy Gervais for Moda.

I’m so glad to finally have this one finished!  It turned out so cute!
